Valanior is an ambitious custom World of Warcraft private server that takes the foundation of Vanilla WoW (1.12) and transforms it into something entirely modern. The server's core philosophy is to preserve what made Classic WoW special — the open world, the sense of adventure, the social leveling experience — while layering in systems inspired by retail WoW, Diablo 3, and modern ARPG design to create a gameplay experience that feels both familiar and fresh.

The most dramatic changes come to the class system. Every class has been completely redesigned with four brand-new specializations, preserving the essence of the Vanilla class identity while introducing entirely new playstyles. On top of that, a Runes system gives players access to over 300 unique runes per class — these drop during content progression and range from Common to Epic quality, slotting into multiple Combat and Utility slots to deeply customize abilities and create builds not possible in standard WoW. Runes can be upgraded, traded, and collected, adding a meaningful layer of itemization alongside traditional gear.

Endgame content has been overhauled as well. Classic raids like Molten Core and Blackwing Lair have been reimagined with Mythic-difficulty versions featuring revamped encounters and significantly higher challenge and rewards. A full Mythic+ dungeon system lets players scale dungeon difficulty upward at will, offering a path to harder content and better rewards beyond the base Heroic tier.

For solo players, Valanior introduces a Companion System inspired by Diablo 3: when queuing for dungeons alone, players can recruit an AI companion that fills a DPS, Tank, or Healer role and scales its power to match the character's strength. This removes the barrier to solo dungeon progression without replacing the value of playing with real people.

Additionally, Death Knights are playable from level 1 with an entirely new skill set, Haste reduces cooldowns, combo points are tied to the player rather than the target, and stats like Mastery and Versatility replace the Hit/Expertise system. Account-wide mounts, achievements, and reputation further modernize the experience.
